Tsuyoshi Takashiro introduces the actual tools and reasoning behind reducing his possessions to roughly 1.2 suitcases. It is both a catalogue of things and a design manual for rearranging life around changing environments.
What stayed with me
I read this series not to buy each featured object, but to compare it against my own kit. In LIFE PACKING 60, for example, Takashiro no longer carries a MacBook; that contrast made it clearer why I need a MacBook Air.
Its attention to changing a kit by trip length, and to treating laundry and repair as one system, remains in my bag. The point is not competing for lightness, but deciding what to keep: a Scrubba that helps when I forget something, or an adapter that keeps connections flexible. Reading it feels like debugging my life through my possessions.
